Ashlyn's first steps!

Last Sunday (4/23/06) at our couples group, Ashlyn took her first steps! She was playing with "Uncle Lee" and he decided to taunt her from a few feet away with her sippy cup of juicy. Nobody was really paying much attention until Lee started making some noises to get our attention. We then saw her take about 3-4 tiny little steps before landing on her bootie. We all erupted with cheers...think we scared the poor girl! We were hoping she'd really get her steps down before her party tomorrow (4/29), but she hasn't had much more interest in walking since then. Except this morning while I was sitting on the couch and Ashlyn was playing, she took about 4 steps toward me, then collapsed in a fit of giggles before I swept her up and praised her and covered her face with kisses. Maybe she's getting a little more interested now. I think she just wants to do it in her OWN time, whenever SHE wants to do it...hmm...where in the world could she get THAT from?! Hee hee...

At the end of February, Kyle and I bundled Ashlyn up in all her winter garb and went for a short walk around our small neighborhood. From one end to the other is 1/10 of a mile. I think we made it .15 miles before it was just TOO cold and Ashlyn had had enough :) Oh well, we got some cute pictures anyway!
