Nothing much new to report here. We're still hanging in here through our busy summer. When is life NOT busy?! I should be used to it by now, right? ;) I'm feeling a lot better these days--not nauseous much, just super tired a lot. Hopefully that'll end in about 2.5 weeks! Kyle and I were able to attend the Willow Creek Arts conference last week with 5 other people from KeyStone, so that was fun. Ashlyn's been a lot of fun, but a handful as well lately. She's cutting 3 molars, so she's gets whiney from that. I'm hoping that's the bulk of the reason for her whineyness...if not, I don't know how we'll survive the "Terrible Twos"! No, she's mostly fun :) She's walking up a storm! Kyle and I took her to the pool today and she just couldn't stay away from people! She assumes that every person in a 100 yard radius wants to talk to her. It's so hilarious! Yesterday, as we were walking across the parking lot to go into church, there was another family all the way on the other side of the lot--not paying any attention to us--and Ashlyn just had to stop walking so that she could wave to them. And when we got into church we started heading toward the nursery, but she spotted her friend Bryson...so we took a little detour so she could say hi. Then once she'd done that, it was off to the nursery as originally planned. She just cracks me up sometimes! I have visions of parent/teacher conferences when her teacher tells us that--just like when I was in 1st grade--she does well, but her bottom never touches her chair!

First Prenatal Appointment

I had my first appointment today and it went really well. I'm going to a new office this time around because my previous doctor is retiring (sniff, sniff). But she's going into medical missions with her husband, so that's really neat! Anyway, the doctor I'm going to this time is the OB specialist at St. Mary's who actually delivered Ashlyn. Unfortunately, he had a kayaking accident and had to have surgery on his hand so he wasn't able to do my exam today, but he should be able to care for me for the rest of my pregnancy. I saw one of his partners instead and he seemed really nice. The nurse who I met with was great! She attends one of the churches that helped KeyStone get its start, so that's pretty cool. She told me that when delivery time comes, whichever of the 5 or 6 doctors is on call will be the one to deliver my baby. At first I was a little bummed that I won't be sure to get my doctor, but then I realized it's not that big of a deal. When he delivered Ashlyn, I had never met him before, and I was fine! I'll at least get to meet with all of the doctors in the practice before January. During my exam, the doctor said that everything looks good and he didn't mention that I'm measuring abnormally large, so that's comforting! :) At my next appointment, we should be able to hear the heartbeat. Fun, fun!

A little worried :)

Well, I've got to admit that I'm a little worried that we might have more than one "bun in the oven". While my worries aren't totally founded, I just can't seem to shake them! I started showing at around 6 weeks. Ok, I know you typically start showing sooner with second, third, fourth, etc. pregnancies, and Ashlyn WAS only born a year ago so my abs haven't had a chance to fully bounce back, but still...six weeks?! I feel right now like I'm as big as I was at 4 months last time! The other reason I feel like there might be two is that I keep feeling a lot of movement in there. Maybe I'm just remembering what it feels like, but maybe there's two babies dukin' it out! Who knows?! Our pastor talked today on the passage about not worrying about anything but praying about everything, so I know that's what I have to do. God's in control anyway. And maybe it's just my EVIL cousin, Jen, who's been putting these "twin" thoughts in my head ;) I guess we'll find out soon enough. My first appointment is on June 12...it can't come quickly enough for me! Somebody, please just tell me I'm being silly!
